    Rpms with Fury 3 23p

For those that are running a Mercury Pro XS 250 Fourstroke with a Fury 3 23 pitch prop: What RPMs are you getting at WOT?

That's about what I got when running WOT while breaking in my new Pro XS 225 4-stroke motor running with a borrowed Fury 23 that was B&B'd by Mark Croxton. I now have a 23P Tempest to try once the weather clears.

boat test dotcom just tested the exact same boat you have and only got 5850 rpm at 67 mph i think you need a 24 bravo 1 xs help lift the bow and get more rpms which the fury does not do on a heavy boat

Boat test doesn't run their boats at max rpm's or max speed.

I have a friend I fish with a lot who has the new Ranger 521L. Heavier than the 521C so a little slower. He runs a Fury 23 B&B'd by Mark. This is the prop I borrowed to break my new 4-stroke in. He runs around 68 - 69 (GPS) with both of us in the boat while fishing. He runs 70 light. boat test dot com must not have run WOT or they would have went well over 70 and close to 6200 on the Tach.

I've got the same problem. Best I've gotten on tournament load is 5850 and 66 mph and loaded light in optimal chop and cool temps. Very displeased with my z520 and 250 merc performance. Any advice my way is appreciated as well.

Which prop were they using when they ran that Z20 to 76.6 mph at 6200 rpms?

You've I'm sure seen it posted before but if you have a hotfoot, make sure you are getting 100% throttle opening. A dealer will need to do that. You don't say what prop you run, but if its a 23P Fury, get it true pitched by Mark Croxton. Not sure if you have a C or L boat, but Mark's work really woke my boat up. Last thing is if you have a manual plate, what engine height are you running? Mine came from the factory 4" below pad. I found 2.75" below pad to be the best. Good luck!

Yes its a 23p fury. I have an atlas hydraulic and have played with the pad to prop like crazy and can't get any better. I had a mechanic check the throttle and he said it was set properly. Im not 100% certain I believe he really checked it to be honest. I think im going to take it to a different mechanic and have the throttle rechecked. Ive tried Croxton several times, called and called and sent email. Cant seem to get to him. I'd love to have him true up a new tempest and try it out. Seems like people w 23 tempest are having better luck.
