Does my 2017 175 txw with Merc 60hp have a water fuel separator factory installed somewhere on it? If it doesn't, is there any benefit to adding one and has anyone added an aftermarket one?

You would get better results asking this in the Mercury 4 stroke Forum. I don't know much about the 60 hp but my 90 HP does have one and it is not recommended to add any additional filters. Does your owners manual say anything about draining a water separator?
My 60 has a small canister under the cowling, I believe it to be a fuel water separator as I don't recall there being a filter in there... Though every time I have checked it, I've never found it to contain any water.
To get a definitive answer I would ask the folks over in the Mercury 4 Stroke forum... be sure to include the motor serial number in your post.

I have a Racor fuel & water separator on my 2008 60 hp efi 4 stroke. I would not be without one. Great Protection
