    Leupold VX Freedom?

Wife is still shopping for a new scope for her 6.5 CM....She only deer hunts about a dozen times during the season. So she is not wanting to spend for a high price scope.

Vortex Viper and Burris are still on her short list.

Anyone have the Leupold VX Freedom give her a review?

I have one and have no complaints. Never had a leupold that I didn't like.

It being a Leupold, I'm sure it'll be ok. Always seems to me, regardless of name brand, once you get up to 400 bucks and up it seems like desirable features really start to come out. On a caliber like that, a 3-9 or 3-12 power would be good unless going REAL long range. Leupolds are hard to beat.

Same here. Even the Rifleman for $170 is a decent scope but I haven't tested it in bad weather yet. Did the Freedom replace the Vari X II? The specs and price range look similar. I've had an Vari X II on my 7-08 for almost 30 years and it's never let me down--rain, snow, or sub-zero.

I think there are better options then Leupold and I was a die-hard Leupy guy for many years. All my Leupolds have been replaced with either Meopta Meopro or Swarovski Z3 series scopes. IMO, these have better clarity, easier adjustments and I just see horns easier and clearer even in low light.

I have one on a 350 Legend.........no complaints from me. Seems to gather light very well and seems very clear to me. Keep in mind though I use it primarily for deer hunting in Ohio where most shots in this area are 100yds or less.

I’ve got a 3-9x50 on a Mk3 Bar in 308, one on a Mk3 in 30.06 and one on a T/C ProHunter in 30.06 . They are all accurate and as far as I can tell compared to my other guns with a Vx3 , just as clear. I don’t think they are making the 3-9x50 Vx Freedom anymore tho.

I have two Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x40. Both are on Savage 93R17GV rifles (.17 HMR). I think I paid $199 for the scope, and for that price point, its a good solid performer, plus its made in the USA.
