I use the Boat Buckle on my Stratos bow eye, but just for keeping the bow from bouncing if I don't get it fully cranked all the up to the stop. And I'm sure it will do nothing beyond that, especially if I ever get in a wreck.

I have gone the boat buckle route on the 2 boats I have owned in the last 10 years.
I will add this on the boat I just bought too.
I do not think it will hold in a hard accident.....but look at it more like protection if my winch/strap fail it would keep the boat cinched up.

I added a bow retention Boat Buckle to keep it down tight and eliminate any bounce but it's still acting as a mesh condom for severe impact as the eyes are going to snap anyway.
