    Praying Hotels near Hopewell Marina

    Looking for a hotel near Hopewell Marina or your able to charge your batteries after A-day of fishing on the James any help would be appreciated

    The hotels in the Chester area are not far from Hopewell Marina. Lots of restaurants in that area also. I stayed at the Hampton Inn and they had outside outlets. That was a long time ago though so you may want to call ahead.

    If you haven't run that section of the James/Appomattox before, you need to be careful. On the James, the channel is marked but outside the main channel I wouldn't run what I have not idled across first. Floods wash debris up in all the creek mouths and there are spoil piles around also. If I had a $1 for every bent prop shaft or lost lower unit on that river, I could possibly give Bill Gates a run.
