    Motor Drop Settup

Would appreciate some feedback on this.

I have a 96 202 ProV with a 92 Evinrude Venom'ish motor. I am running a mech jack plate. I am trying to determine how deep to run the motor. I have it about 3.5 inches below the pad to the centerline of the prop right now. I did that and it seams like I have lost some MPH. Any recommendations specific or general about how low the prop shaft should sit off the pad on Blazers?

I would go up till you start losing water pressure, 202s like the motor higher .10 to 14 inches of set back is best, the more set back you have the higher you can raise the motor without losing pressure.

Yeah, depending on the set up and load, the motor will need to be between 1.5 - .5 inches below the pad.

I did use this measurement technique. I will do the .25 at a time process though.
