    optis have never had carbs direct injected always since 98

    There were about 500-1000 engines built prior to regular production that had a "dummy" EFI intake assembly (Laser-Style) on the front of the engine. This assembly was used SOLELY for air-supply control, and had no fuel delivery capabilities.


    Dual Mercury Master Technician- for Mercury Outboards, Mercruiser and Mercury Racing at European Marine in Greenville, SC.

    So if it an OPTI then it has Fuel Injection unless it is one to the first 500-1000?

    Pardon my ignorance.......just learning about this.

    They were fuel injected as well, just a different air intake.
