    Suggestions for Transducer placement on a 2003 Ranger 175vs

    I am switching over to Garmin (HD 93SV) and the mounting bracket will not fit where my old Hummingbird bracket is located. Also, I would loose reading under speed where the Hummingbird bracket was located. Was hoping to get some ideas of where to install the GT54 transducer on my Ranger.

    I have a 178 and use a transducer shield thats connected to the jack plate. Cant see if you have a jack plate.

    Picture looks identical to the 462 I had. Mounted an external transducer on the edge, about under the tie down eye bolt and it lasted about one outing on the Potomac. Hanging by the cord in the wake, moved it to the bilge, inside the hull.
