Dave was one of the best and will be greatly missed. Sad day for sure.

It was indeed that Dave Stewart. He had battled cancer for several years.

Dave will be missed by many bass fisherman that called him a friend. Kentucky lake will never be the same.

This is so sad. I just learned that Dave had died. I fished with him regularly starting in 2010 until he retired. We got along well and I had some great fishing trips with him. I think the fact that I was also a cancer patient gave us a bond that grew into a friendship. He definitely was the master of ledge fishing, and knew Ky. Lake like the back of his hand. Eventually my wife started fishing with us, and Dave was so kind to her during our trips. A true Kentucky Lake legend. RIP my friend.

I only knew Dave from emails over the years. He was always so helpful and although I never had the pleasure of meeting him and speaking with him in person, I will miss our exchanges. The last few times we conversed it was about his illness and even while I tried to be optimistic, he had already come to terms with its course. There's a huge hole in the the angling world, among those are his weekly posts. He set the bar very high. He is missed. RIP, Dave.
