    Wire rod guides?

I need a little guidance please.

I bought a couple of Gloomis rods from a guy I know sight unseen. Due to the Covid situation, I put them in the truck and left without inspecting them. One of them is a BCFR. Might there be an issue with them as I do not flip?

Those are probably REC nickel titanium guides, it is a memory metal like spring steel, but lighter. It has a hardness in the stainless steel range. They have been around 20 + years. You will not have any problems from them being wire other than they can be a bit noisier as braid passes through them because of the lack of mass causing a resonance. Fish a lot of dirty water with braid can cause grooving over years of use, since braid holds dirt and sand well, braid by itself will do no harm.
