I grew up in Tulsa, watched them all of the time, my friend in Edmond, OK flew the F-100 Super Sabre in the war and was a Test Pilot after, thanks for posting!!! where do you come up with these?

You missed another generation, the plane I finished my enlistment on. Old saying, "If you built a runway around the world, Republic would build an airplane that needed every inch of it".

    Here's "Thud".

Once the P-51 (my all-time favorite warbird) was able to escort Allied daylight bombing missions deep into Germany, victory was all but assured.

Such a great photo... thanks for posting it up.

    That's a great photo!

Locally, Steuart Walton, one of the heirs of the late Sam Walton, owns 3 P51's and a Corsair. They fly out of the Bentonville airport. I see them quite often, or should I say hear them, you know when one of them is coming your way based on the sound, very loud compared to civilian prop powered aircraft.

There's also a Spitfire XVIII and a Fieseler Storch, both flyable, based at the Bentonville airport, but they are not owned by Walton.
