Teleflex Rack and Pinion steering system???

I have attached a picture of what parts I have from my 1983 Champion 168. I know I still need the rack and pinion steering cable, what other parts do I need. My boat was stripped of almost everything, Maybe a new and updated steering system is in order. Seaside now manufactures Teleflex. Thanks for your opinions.teleflex.jpg

I know its not the question you asked and I know its more expensive but I switched Rack and Pinion to a hydraulic system on my 92 astro and what a difference. Especially if you cruise around scanning with electronics, one hand on the wheel one on a cup of coffee. Easier to load a boat to. Zero regrets and worth every penny. Just my 2 cents

If you can't afford to go hydraulic, try the new Teleflex no feed back system, probably about half the price of hydraulic and is very nice upgrade from rack and pinion.New helm and cables and should be good to go . You can probably get it for around $400 total more or less...could just get cables for that helm but not sure on the condition of that helm from pictures and so on especially if you plan on keeping the boat for any length of time

I don't think I'd put that one back in !! I'd do my damnest to go to a hydraulic system since you're replacing it all anyway.

Cable length should be molded into the casings on the old ones. I've got a single, new 12' FWIW

Cool:) My old 18'er took 13s, don't ask me how I've been lugging this new 12' around for the last 20 years

The cables on my 1990 are 12'make sure before you order and if you don't have the old ones, measure by the way they tell you on the site to get correct ones
