    Replacing fuel lines

Going to replace the line from my tank to the bulb in my 2004 185VX. Anyone got an idea of how many feet of fuel line I need?

Every boat is different. Might be best to pull your line out and measure. Then go to your local marine store and get what you need.

If you order 50ft you should have enough.

I have the same boat. Seems like I got a 15’ piece of fuel line. It connects in the middle of the tank right below the back of the middle seat/step.

I want to use the old line to pull the new line into place. Hard to do that if u pull it. I was thinking 15 foot would do it, but id hate to be three feet short

Always get a little extra. measure from the middle to the gunwale to the back where your fitting is - add 3' or so.

You defiantly want to use your old fuel line to pull the new one in. There should be a few Zip ties holding it along the bilge opening you'll have to cut too.

You could pull the old line out and pull a piece of rope through in the process. Then, use the rope to pull the new fuel line through.

TANK FUEL ACCESS PORT 2002 RANGER.jpg

This is what I found on the 02 ranger I did this summer. The upper deck access port to the fuel tank connection didn't quite line up with the lower deck reinforcement. Restricted the opening about half open. Which meant we had to partially remove the upper deck to be able to access the connection to replace the supply line. Quality control! Must of been a Monday or Friday boat!If you look closely at the picture you also see the screw head for the clamp was under the line connection and facing to the rear. Must of had a real bright person install the clamp.Had to cut the clamp off.
