Mine just came today. Will be installed before the weekend. looking forward to it
Ex-flex and hardware came in. What do you guys think about the quality of the wet shackle assembly? I would of thought they would of been a better quality with nylon nuts.
Assembly is fine with me. Torque nuts to yields shown on included the paperwork from Dexter.
Thought it was better quality.
Plates are twice as thick as what I took off.
Tolerances are extremely close/tight.
Brass bushings over thin nylon.
Mine came with self locking nuts......IMO-- for this application better than nylocks.
Not to mention the drilled bolts for greasing.
These were my thoughts also.Thought it was better quality.

Have had the kit on my 6500lb tandem for 10 yrs now.
No known problems as of yet.
Glad to see you have been running it 10 years and still positive review.
Maybe I should of specified a little better. I bought this kit because of everyone on the BBC's great reviews.
I just thought they would be case harden bolts. Also, I thought the shackles and wet bolts would install a little easier. I have to actually tweak them in a vise to make them line up with each other.
The shackle thickness is great and the ez-flex seems pretty beefy.
Brass bushings are definitely a huge plus and the main reason I boat the system was for the wet bolts.
Never had self locking nuts on any of my suspensions, vehicle or trailer. This was why I was a little concerned.
There are so many different self locking nut identifiers (subtle markings on nut) that it can catch you off guard if you did not realize at first it is self locking.Never had self locking nuts on any of my suspensions, vehicle or trailer. This was why I was a little concerned.
Enjoy your new EZ flex kit for many miles and keep it well greased.
Yep, people unfamiliar with these types of nuts vs the visible nyloc insert, think they are starting to cross thread the nut. However they will only go on a few threads before getting tight against the deformities caused on the inside by the dimples.
