Viagra for my bow. Can't get it up.

2010 21hp. Slow out of the hole and rides with the bow pointing down. How to get it up?

    Foldouts of new, young Tritons?

You may get better results if you give more info
Motor, jackplate, ptp, rpm's, prop type and how long you been running it.

Tried that in another thread, but let's try here...

    2010 21 hp. Ptp 2.25". 25p tempest plus worked by Croxton and a stock 26p fury 3 ptp 2.75"

Tempest-72.5 @ 6200. Fury 71.2 @ 5950. Both won't pull the bow up and slow out of the hole.

10" Atlas Hyd jp. Just got the boat a few weeks ago and have been working on various items.

Does it blow out any coming out of hole? What are your RPMs on hole shot?

Try lowering your jack plate 1/4-1/2 inch. See if that helps. If I get my PTP above 3.25" with my fury I lose top end and struggle to get it all the way out of water.

did you have mark work the prop or did it come with the boat?
wedges will help and the hp likes them, I have never had a fury that ran good on the hp
    what motor are you running?
    a 2 stroke shouldnt be turning 6200
you should be able to run a 26 tempest to 5800-5900 and run 75+

    It's a 250 pro xs.

Yes, I had mark work the prop (twice) adding cup for a TR-196

I failed to check rpm on holeshot, but the worked 25 tempest plus does expereince some blow out. Not so much on the fury, though both were at 2.25" at start out and I lowered the fury a 1/2" at wot.

Hope you get that problem resolved. Interesting that I have the opposite problem and can't get my bow down on my 2020 Triton TRX 189, especially at a slower speed but I haven't had it out but one time.

Started at a lake close by at 6000' elevation so I didnt expect any kid of top end, which it hit 62mph there but with the same lazy out of the hole and feeling like the bow never got up.

Last trip that I spent several hours with the 2 different props was at 2000' elevation, 60 degrees, slight chop. I was expecting 75-77 on the top end and certainly a better holeshot, but nada and the same problem with getting the bow up.

Put new plugs in after the first lake excursion up high and that solved the Miss at idle, but it seems to have a slight hesitation at takeoff. Once it's up on plane and going it pulls fine, though not the top end I'd like. I will trade top end for a good hole shot and getting the bow up and top end at 70?

Its heading to the shop the end of the week for a few things out of my expertise and I'm going to have them check the trim and gauge (one piston is leaking) along with the tach and the hyd jp gauge is not functioning correcting, showing numbers all over the place without touching the lever, though the jp itself seems to function fine.

I think you may have just answered your own question, if your trim is leaking it’s most likely dropping as soon as you hit the gas.

It very well may be, but the gauge is not showing that, but hey, the gauge doesn't seem to be showing correctly as well.

That would explain the top end but I'm not sure it affects the hole shot or how much getting the bow up.

Itll take a month to find out.

Thanks to all who gave input!

The low bow could be fixed with wedges under the motor mounts provided those trim pumps aren't leaking down.

On the way down to the dealer (150 miles away) I threw on my old 24p fury 4 and boat came out of the hole much better and nearly equaled top end of the other props and that was with forgetting to put plugs in live wells. There is hope!

Part of my list at dealer is installing the bobs transom wedges as well. Thanks!

I'm going to get the transom wedges installed along with a new smartcraft tach and speedo with the included new trim and get back to the lake in a few weeks and this time get the plugs in the livewell before testing. I'll probably send the 24p fury 4 into Mark for more cup to carry a load in the summer as the boat jumped right up on plane with it and much better mid range as well and pick up another fury 4 in a 25p for cooler weather and lighter loads.

Im thinking it'll run 73-75 with the 25p fury 4 in cool weather at 2000' elevation and the reworked 24p fury 4 with a little more cup will do the job at 3000' and warmer temps even if it only sees upper 60's in that condition with a load, the 4 blade prop got the bow up some and worked better at everything else then the 3 blades, only giving up about 1.5 mph. Win-win in my book. If the wedges give me a little more, just icing on the cake.

    Thanks everybody!
