More questions on set up and prop choice

I have just recently took possession of a 21XRS with a 300R, sportsmaster with 1.75 gears. 14" setback
I am running a Power Tech. BRV-5 (5 blade) in a 28 pitch, 15-1/4" dia. According to Power Tech web site the blades are very similar to the Bravo I.
I initially had prop center line about 1/4 inch below pad. It did not feel right and would only turn about 5600 RPM showing 79 MPH.
I have raised motor another 1/2" but, have not had the opportunity to try it.

    So my question(s)
I see people looking for 32 and 33 pitch props for the 300R and I am trying to figure out what I am missing. Does the 5th blade make that much difference? Also I was told by a person I consider very sharp and years of experience that I will not need to run the motor as high as my 20XD (1-3/8 " above).
So how high should I start at? With the last adjustment I am about 1/4 inch above. Any other comments?

The boat that bass and walleye tested with the 300R ended up running a CNC prop over 2" above the pad. I think the bigger gear case likes to run high I. The water but I don't run a XRS.

I have a 21rdc, 300r running 1.5" above pad. The Xrs is a little different but I bet you will need to be around 1"-1.25" above.

It appears I need to raise it up a little more.

My experience is the bigger sportmasters don't seem to do well below pad or at even pad. I'm running a 32 max 5 on my 20xdc 250R, but its a bit too much coming out of the hole (loaded), empty no prob

Ghol - I got my SDC about a month ago so I am by no means an expert. My hull is the same as your XRS. I have the same set up as you...300R 1.75. I have a 30 Bravo and have seen 84.3 with full tourney load, 300 pound partner, full fuel (including saddle tank). Solo I have seen 86.9. I’m still new to driving a bullet so not comfortable raising motor very high. I saw these numbers with the motor only “1/4 above pad at the most. Maybe one day I wont be so chicken and will raise the motor to where it is supposed to be!

I don't know about the 300R, but with the 3L 2 strokes a Bullet is much easier to drive with the motor up where it should be. With what I have read about how high you can run a 300R I think you'd be perfectly safe to come up to 1.25 above and it would be easier to drive.
