    buying a new 12" SI - get g2 or g3+?

i will only be using it in tandem for mapping and SI and my console with a 12" lowrance.

I will not use any other function other than SI and mapping.

is worth the 800 extra for the 3+ and why>?

Well the H12 G2N's were discontinued in 2018, good luck finding one unless it is pre-owned.

The G3N's were discontinued last year and replaced by the current G4N's. You may find a left-over G3N, they were scarce in the Spring. The dealers stock of G4N's are depleted very quickly so far.

Newer stuff cost more than older stuff, that's why.

thank you for hitting me up. i actually have found a new open box g2n but i was wondering if it is worth the 800+ dollars for g3n that are on clearance at basspro.

i will only be using it for SI at a max of 100ft, but more than likely 75ft and mapping

The G3N will have better Side Imaging and better 2D sonar, they are + which means more power.

Wayne if I went with the g2n would it accept a g2n or g4n transducer? Just for functionality

A G3N/G4N transducer is not compatible with a G2N. Have to use the standard transducer for the G2N.
