It’s an easy rebuild. You’re just changing out the screw-in end caps, refilling the system through the helm and then bleeding to get the air out. The kit is $85-105 and if you have like say a hydraulics shop nearby, then about $5-10 for the seals and O-rings.

The kit with all needed parts has two end cap seals, spanned wrench and a quart of fluid is about $100. I would think a shop would charge one hour of shop labor,so maybe about $225-$250 total. It’s not hard to do if you are handy with tools.

Extremely easy to do, helps to have a second person for bleeding the system. Takes maybe an hour.

I have never replaced seals but I have purged air from the system. If you have the bleeder kit its a one man job and you want lose a drop of fluid...http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=1060846

Found this in a search. Are there any bushings or spacers that need to be replaced on older units? My seastar is 20 years old on a Skeeter ZX225 with a newer Yami 225 SHO

Or...you could buy the seastar unit I have from my former engine, a 250 proxs 2s.
