Going from 24 inches of screen down to 15?

Thinking about upgrading my bow electronics. I currently have a 12 inch Solix along with a 12 inch Helix. Anyone upgraded to a single 15 inch unit? Are you happy with it, or wish you had stayed with two 12's?

Just went from two 12's. (console) and two 9's (bow) over to 2 15's....One DI on bow with MEGA 360 and one 15 SI on console. I like the set up so far.

I don't like to do split screen with 360 regardless of the display size.

Interested to hear. I have all g2n 12s (3 with only one at the bow) and looking to upgrade but all this stuff is getting so damn expensive. I run reg 360 and it’s been rare where I really felt I needed a second graph at the bow

I 100% agree with Wayne. 360 is one of those applications when you really need that full screen to get the best out of it. Scrunching everything down into 1/2 of the available space is significantly hindering the clarity of what is displayed.

I'm thinking about having the 15 for Mega Live, and running my 360 off of my current Helix.

I’m leaning towards getting a 15 for my console and moving the current console 12 to replace a 9 at the bow. That would give me two 12’s at the bow. One for the 360/2D/DI and one for the Mega Live. Waiting on HB to get product on the street.

This is my plan as well. I made cardboard mockups of the size of the Solix 12 and Solix 15 and put them on the boat, the screen size of the 15 is significant. I still plan on adding another 12 at the bow for maps, 2d, DI, or live so I can run the 360 on just a 15, but think I will be OK in the short term with just the one unit. At the console the single 15 should be plenty sufficient.

Wayne, I'm coming to the same conclusion on my 15" G2 Solix. I have a 19" Apex on order and am hoping that that will make the split screen Mega 360 much better. Worst case, I add a second head unit down the road but I have limited space at the helm of my trolling pontoon... The 19" Apex will take up most of it.

I agree. As a matter of fact I don't like running Mega360 on anything other than full screen with front view.

Got to love it when we can all agree or disagree to our personal likes and preferences, carry on mature conversations and live life freely. Thats why companies stay in business, we all keep spending our money on the toys. I have been torn about selling the 12's just to put one up front for mapping and DI for that reason. Every time I think about listing them I change my mind.

My old boat had a pair of 12" at the console and I let those graphs go when I sold her. My new to me one has a single 15" Solix there and I find myself wishing I still had the pair of 12's. There isn't the same amount of room and I'd ran the pair of 12's for a few years and I guess had gotten really used to it. The picture quality on the 12" graphs appeared to be better as well, but that could just be nostalgia talking :)
