For those that have a newer Classic and don’t like how the rear box lid pinches and lays on top of rods, this might interest you.
I installed two friction hinges made by Gemlux onto my lid. These are hinges that will hold the lid at any position. Kind of like The gas struts on the other lids, except those open all the way while these hinges hold the lid still at any angle. Also, the front hinge covers the crevice where a rod would lay and prevents pinching.
