    New 4-Stroke Motor

2021 Merc 225 Pro XS 4-Stroke. Can't wait to get it out on the lake to start the break-in.

The old motor that finally quit after 13 yrs. That was one fine motor.

MercMonitor for the 4-Stroke on the left. Took the place of my Speedo. Wonder what that Speedo is worth? Gotta recover some of that cost for the motor, etc.

Since the oil is stored inside the engine, what did you do with the previous oil tank in your boat? Was it removed to open up space for another battery, etc.? Just curious as I'm thinking about doing the same for my Ranger. Congrats on the new outboard, looks great.

Thank you, and yes they had to remove the old oil tank. Wasn't needed with the new motor. They had a dickens of a time getting to it. This thing was in the way.

Nice. You'll love it over here on the 4-stroke dark side. Make sure you break it in right.

Taking it out Tue for break-in. Putting in at the dam, then driving one hour up to Lead Hill. Fish for a few hours. Then drive one hour back. I'm borrowing a 23 Fury from a friend and using it for the initial two hour break-in. The mechanic who put the motor on drove it for 15 minutes to check it out afterwards. He said he only got 5780 RPMs with my B&B'd 25 Tempest. I hope the 23 Fury will get me to the 6200 RPMs I need during break-in.
