Whaley Marine Services in Bernhards Bay NY. (North Shore of Oneida Lake). Matt is a certified mercury master tech and the most trustworthy mechanic I know. I drive over around 1.5hrs just for him to service my boat (used to have a Nitro/Mercury). there’s around 7 Dealers/Mechanics that are closer, some I even get a discount on through my bass club, but I still go to him.

Jack plate mounting could be done by just about any shop. I did it myself using a winch and pulley attached to the ceiling. Serious outboard repair is ugly. Living in upstate ny we are marooned. Be nice to your motor, good gas and oil, strong battery, and fingers crossed.

Did you try calling Silver Lake Marina? They are 45 min or less from Rochester on Silver Lake in Silver Spring.
What Ranger set up do you have?

Depending on just where you live in Rochester, I have used two great places,,,, Silver Lake Marine Quinn the owner and Skyler are great people to deal with or Bow and Stern Marine in North Tonawanda is another great place Paul the owner has also grown a great business, Jim one of their mechanics is an A+ certified mechanic. Both places have been family owned forever and both have grown their business based on great service, I highly recommend either place to do anything.

Barrett's is actually located in Waterloo (address wise), even though it is close to Geneva. They're on River Road just off Route 96A. Fran and his team are outstanding.
