    1991 Champion 190DC steering hard

I have a 91 190DC with a 200hp evinrude and it is really hard to turn the steering wheel to the left at high speeds. Its a little stiff all the time. Is this a setup issue or should I be looking at changing my steering cables?

    Cable steering or hydraulic?
If it's cables, you need to clean them out, if someone put grease on them, the grease dries out and packs up in the steering tubes and causes trouble. Then don't ever put grease back on them, silicone, penetrating oil or lithium, never grease.

Hard steering at speed is a symptom of motor being a bit too high, the torque comes from your prop surfacing. If you like the way it's running, and just want to ease the wheel torque,a skeg mounted torque tab fixes it for $20
