    G Loomis 844 MBR

Would this be a good rod for skipping jigs? Also maybe use for spinnerbaits and swim jigs. Not sure what series yet, probably imx pro or glx.

This is an absolutely amazing jig rod... it’s also a perfect swim jig rod as well.
This rod is pretty much the Swiss Army knife of Bass fishing
Spinnerbaits 1/2 ounce and up ...Perfection as well
This is Matt Allen from Tactical Bassin #1 rod
The MBR actions in this rod make it much more difficult for fish to throw the hook.
Best rod I have ever used ... And I’ve used them all .... NRX on down
    It just kicks A**!!!

I had an older version of the GLX 844 MBR and I found it to be fantastic at things like spinnerbaits, frogs (sparse cover), paddle-tail swimbaits, etc. I personally didn't care for it for jig or T-rig fishing because it had a softer tip than what I like to have for those techniques. Overall it's a very versatile rod though.

Same here...it wasn't my preferred for jigs either at the time, however the OG MBR 844 GLX is an AWESOME all-around power tech/heavy power rod for single hooks and even some treble hook tech lures.

I'm always on the hunt for a "better" jig rod. I've tried a lot of different brands and models over the years and some threads lately have really peaked my interest in the GLX 844MBR. I like utility in a rod and primarily throw 1/2 oz. jigs. As I fish, I'll move from casting to targets, to skipping under stuff to fan casting somewhat open water all with the same lure/rod/reel. I'm guessing the 844MBR could do all of those? I keep falling back to my OG Tatulas (7'1 MH R and 7'2 H F) time and time again...even after getting rods that cost way more that they did. I've never owned a G. Loomis rod at all, are they really that much better than Dobyns, Megabass and the others?
