MIRRORING carbon with iphone 11

I can't get my iphone 11 to control my carbon using the lowrance app. It will mirror it but that's it. I have the latest software on the carbon on the iphone and the latest version of the app. Also tried the link app with no luck it would connect to sonar logs but not to the screen. Is this even still possible? The phone is new, am I missing something in the phone settings? Thanks in advance

Hi speckster...just a quick thought here but mirroring is usually a wifi function while apps use Bluetooth. Is the phone paired to the Carbon?

hey daniel Yes the mirroring is through wifi it mirrors but the remote control function doesn't pop up. I have also tried it with the phone connected to the mfd with bluetooth to no avail. thanks for the reply.

I believe the phone can only view, but if you use an iPad, you can control it.

I'm having a bear of a time connecting with the Link App to a new Live. Sometimes I get the QR code sometimes not. I think there is something wrong with the app.

Thanks for the reply's guys. If memory serves me right I had a 6s that used to function as a remote .It no longer works as well .I did watch a u tube vid of a guy with samsung galaxy phone use his as a remote with a live unit. A new version of the lowrance app was released the other day but it still only mirrors. The link app won't even do that. Maybe ios 14 is the issue.

All I want to do is back up the units to my phone. Used to work fine but since I added the new 12 Live, I can't even get the phone to pair. Will work on it again next time we have good weather.

There is a updated version of the Link app, mirroring and remote capabilities have bee restored.

I have no problem using Link to view/control/backup my HDS Live with a 4th Gen ipad - used it 2 days ago with my HDS/Active Target. Cannot get my Android phone (Pixel 3) or Tablet (Samsung Tab A) to reliably connect. Tried 2 days ago with the Tablet before I invested, $$85, in another used ipad and it was still a unreliable connection. I talked to Lowrance last year about it and they said they would look into it, guess not.
