Garmin GLS-10 from 24V trolling motor batteries
Before I ask I fully understand:
-trolling motors and their circuits are a common source of rf interference seen on depthfinders
-there are many great batteries that I don’t need a sales pitch for
-I’ve seen the RMP video discussing the lack of benefit of 24V vs fully charged 12V
-I know of someone running this without issue using lithium batteries with perfect clarity.
Has anyone tried wiring the GLS-10 box to the trolling motor batteries using 2 batteries (24V) of a 36V system? This box is not like a traditional unit and likes the voltage kept high with 12v systems. If it deals well with noise this may be an option to keep from cranking battery drain. By using 2 batteries in a system that is very hard to run down it could prevent issues. It wouldn’t be any different to the trolling motor batteries than running a 12/24 system on 12 for a period of time discharging one battery.
Has anyone tried to do anything similar with lead acid batteries or do they know of a noise cancelling trchnology being used in lithium batteries?
