They are still in operation for two more years, but they don’t publish the generating status. It’s about 30 miles from me, and I can see the output of the stack when it is running, but there never seems to be a way to predict when they will or won’t be running as far as I can tell. You can call the guard shack and they will tell you if the plant is running and for how long its its been running. At least that's what I've been told.

As on today Friday 19th the lake is iced in from the boat ramp to as far north as you can see. Yes the plant was running. When it's this cold this long it does ice over on the south end. Might be best to call before you go.
Still froze
I flew over the lake yesterday, and it is frozen about half way up the lake. I live close and fly over it most days, I will keep this everyone updated.

55 degrees here today and the plant is running, this is causing the ice to melt very quickly. Ice still covering all the south coves, but the ice has melted all the way back to the islands north and of the ramp.
Thanks again Andy, was really looking forward to coming down early . Plans change though, had cancer 12 years ago. Well its back so seeing Doctor tomorrow. Said wanted to go over stuff but count on radiation 5 days week for 8 weeks. So looks like gonna be while. Hope everyone tears them up.
