Smart Craft Low Oil New 4 stroke

A friend recently repowered from a 17 Pro XS 250 to a 2020 4 stroke 250. Since the repower the Smart Craft gauge is showing a Low Oil alarm. Obviously its because he no longer has the oil reservoir. I have tried to clear the alarm but it won't clear. Is there a way to delete this function or bypass it on the Smart Craft Guage? He has sent emails to Mercury but never got a response back for this issue. Also the local dealer had no idea how to do it...

Not sure what Smartcraft gauge he has but yes you can go into the menu and set the Oil tank to “Not Installed.” Have your buddy look up in the manual for whichever device he has to het the exact instructions.

    First things first:

See if you can get your friend to sign up and provide the engine serial number.

His Smartcraft Instrument should have been reset to Factory Defaults when the new engine was installed (and then setup based on the engine that is actually connected to the instrument now).

Although functionally everything seems to work, the Tank-2 setting is (as suggested above) still looking for a non-existent oil tank.
