Virginia 2021 fishing regulation changes.

The Virginia DWR has released the 2021 fishing regulations. It has significant changes to multiple regulations & programs that may be of interest to folks.

Interesting?:
No size or possession limits statewide, on spotted and Alabama bass, except South Holston Reservoir, which has a 15 spotted bass possession limit.

For the Potomac:
All coastal rivers of the Chesapeake Bay, be low the fall line – No yellow perch less than 9”.


Expert angler and master angler certificates and patches, as well as angler of the month awards, have been temporarily suspended. *Disappointing to see this program getting cut. I obtained expert angler for largemouth and blue catfish years ago, and getting those color trophy fish certificates signed by the director as well as the expert/master angler certificates/patches was a self motivated challenge. All that's left after they gutted this program is registering a trophy fish on-line and printing your own certificate. Pretty cheesy.....
