Are they usually suspended or on the bottom at the dam this time of year?

Went to the Chic dam. Threw a jerkbait and swimbait for a couple hours. I only got 2 bites, both on the jerkbait. Landed a 2 lber and lost another around the same size. Water temp was 40 degrees.

Damn that chilly. I went out on SML for a couple of hours yesterday and was shocked to see the water temp had dropped by 4 degrees from the prior Sunday and was as low as 41 in the back of one creek but warmer as I headed down lake to a maximum of 45. Might have been a bit warmer if I'd gone further south, I was north of the Rt. 122 bridge the entire time. No bites.
