    Fishing Line storage shelf life?

How long does mono and FC last in storage without degradation in tensile strength and other qualities. If I can I would like to stock up large spools line for retirement. I would like to stock up on all tackle supplies, line, terminal tackle, lures etc. so I don’t need to buy much in the future. I will be recreational fishing only. Thanks, Allen

if kept in cool dry place, I'd say easily 7-8 years, maybe more. Nobody really knows........

some say to freeze it, I don't like that idea though.

I have a bulk spool of 4lb Trilene XL that is close to 30 years old. I still use it on my panfish rigs. It has been in a sealed box in a basement closet since new except when spooling a reel.

    Storage condition is everything.

I'm using line I've had 20+ years. No problems. Also have bought some old spools on ebay. Again. No problem. Coolish dry place, no sun.

You should know that in bee tending if you don't shut your trap the bees will get out.
