    I live around Pool 2.

Here is the website where you can keep track of info. The ramps they close are their own (public ramps). I believe private ramps usually stay open unless its really high water. Water shed is on the Texas/OK border so between there and north La, if it continues to rain it can stay high for months......looking at the forecast, its showing that its starting to fall....

The second link shows current water levels and forecast.

I live in the pool 5 area in Bossier City. Cant tell you normal pool off hand, but its very high, fast and muddy right now due to alot of rainfall here and North of us. This time of year, the river is pretty unpredictable, as the first few months we usually get alot of rain. That being said, there are several good lakes around the Shreveport/Bossier City area you can fish. Theres Caddo, Cross, Toledo Bend, Bistineau, just to name a few. I would fish Caddo for sure.
