Networking Options - Helix G4N Units

I'm helping a friend upgrade his boat electronics, going from older Garmin units to two new Helix 12" graphs. He already has an Ultrex with iPilot Link. He'll be putting an MSI+ unit on the console and a MDI+ unit on the bow. Do the G4N units still use the same Ethernet connections or is everything now NMEA 2000? He really only wants the Ultrex and the two graphs linked together, but I'm guessing in the future he'll want M360 and MEGA Live too - haha!

Just want to make sure we order everything needed the first time.

    Thanks!

Ethernet has not changed and neither has the connections.

NMEA2000 does not replace Ethernet and the only difference with NMEA2000 data is the change in the physical connection for Helix units. G4N Helix units have a direct connection without the AS ETH NMEA2K black box + Ethernet cable=same as the SOLIX.

Do the new G4N units use the Helix GPS data to calculate fuel efficiency?
Do they feed any info back into the NMEA 2000 network?

I have my G4N connected to NMEA so I can check this weekend and let you know. Are you looking for gal/min and/or range?
I also have my fuel tank on the NMEA network.
I will need to check if the range is calculated off the fuel tank reading or the manual entry when you fill the tank up.

Looking for mile/gal (save me the work of doing math in my head while driving).
I've got my 2017 yamaha F150xb on my nmea 2000 network so I get fuel rate gal/hr, engine hours, engine temp and total fuel used (user restable), but it's always bugged me that the Helix G2Ns won't calculate miles/gal given it has all the needed info.

    Thanks for looking into it!

Curious if you got out this past weekend and what you found out? Thanks!
