    Power Poles on a Margay?

I'd like to install 8-foot power poles on my Margay.

Be interested if anyone has had power poles on their Margay and how the boat ran after installation.
    Motor is a 150 4-stroke.

    Thanks

    2012 Margay - 36v tm, 4 batteries, power pole, 150 optimax, 25 tempest.

Boat would run 63-67 light load, 60-61 with passenger and live wells.

(setup by Basscat - was originally a MLF boat in 2012).

I have a 20 margay with a 150 with dual poles. I had a lot of problems trying to find a prop that works with this boat. I think there is a huge difference between the optimax 2 stroke and 4s engine. I say that to say it's going to be very weight sensitive. I can get 60 with two people but that's on a good day.

Was very hard to find a prop that would lift the boat. If the boat doesn't lift you're looking at 45 mph at best. Very weight sensitive and you're probably only a heavy tackle box away from going from 60 to 45

Running a Fury 23 right now.

    I also have a Tempest Plus 24.

    Bob's Action Jack 6" Hydraulic

llsdiv: what prop did you settle on?

It's a SL4. I think 23 pitch. I tried the tempest, fury, and trophy props and none had enough lift once you started to add a passenger and fill a livewell.

You may do better with a hydraulic plate. I only have a fixed

Pretty much same here but I never tried a Fury. Razor 4XL was the best at lift by far even though the Tempest was faster with less slip.

Bought the SL4. Boats top speed is now 43 mph. Don't quite understand why.

Previous owner ran the boat over 60 mph.

About out of alternatives. I've had a Tempest, Fury, and now the SL4.

Would a Razor 4 make more difference?

    Running an Ultex 80 w/Humminbird 360. An 8" and 7" graph(s) on the bow.

43 mph is pitiful for this boat.

Could it be I switched from an 8" jackplate to a 6" hydraulic?

Hello! This model is the most weight sensitive boat I have ever seen!!! There was a guy on here that i believe a 22 SL4 on his model and was the only way to get it to run.. My friend has an 2018-4s as well. We agree that it should even with a small load, livewell full and a passenger be able to perform.

How did the boat perform in the 60 plus range with original owner. You have to dial each prop in and quit flipping props till the setup is right on each propeller.
