    Santee in Early March

I'm booked for the first week of March on Lake Marion. Staying on the north end of the lake. I'm familiar with the Jack's Creek area. Did pretty good there on a past trip. Are the other creeks nearby worth checking out?
Can you safely navigate the north side shoreline going towards 95?

I'll be giving you a call Inky.

Hey Inky. That was fast. You said nothing of it when we spoke last week. I hope it's not hitting you too hard.

Inky, have you ever thought about writing a book on Santee? A famous guide on the Potomac, Ken Penrod has a book detailing the river from one end to the other. It's full of fishing info and arras, history and stories.

I second this, and I’d stand in line for a copy. Stories, info, anecdotes, pictures covering the entire system from Pinopolis to the swamp would be great. Even locations of some of the underwater plantations, I remember during the drought someone hit a chimney supposedly around Hog Swamp, be nice to know where some of this stuff is.

Info guys like you, and long time guides like Linwood Thornhill have is priceless. Once that info is gone, it’s gone. Be nice to have it documented.

You def need to take it easy and take care of yourself!! If you want to get out on the water for a day and NOT have to guide let me know and I will give you a back seat and a bagged lunch and we can go catch a few up a creek. God bless buddy!!

Great news Inky!! I don't even want to imagine how that attack went down yesterday. Sorry man...
I didn't fish Santee any last year and not enough fishing at all. Gonna try to at least get 3 or 4 trips in this year and at least 2 on Cooper River. Neither of which are too far from the Savannah area.

Our Club is going to Santee this March. I must admit it is little scary to me. All the stories. Only good thing it will be a trailer tournament. Any help would be much appricaited.

Be sure to tell your club members not to go to Jacks Creek Marina. It is closed with a fence & gate across the road going into the property.

Think that is where we was planning on staying. On google says it is Carolina King Retreat & Marina

    Any reason it is closed?
