If a person turns off their private message feature and someone tries to sent them a private message will the sender get back some type of notification that the person they are trying to private message has their feature turned off?

I dont think so. The only thing like that is a "read receipt" but only on active Messages.
I just now turn off my private message...see if you can can you send me one and let me know what happens on your end.
it just removes the pm tab for your available contact options
just asking why turn it off?
