Anyone ever tried Two hook Drop Shot Rig ??

Never did this, but thought it might work; if its legal. Regular drop shot hook and weight, plus an additional hook maybe a foot above it for two hooks within three feet of the bottom.

I've tried a 3 drop shot rig. Didn't like it. Seems like only the top bait worked properly, and forget getting it through the brush, especially with a fish on.

Don't see why it would not work, I usually fish a DS in the summer, often when you get a spotted bass, a few of his buddies will follow him to the boat trying to get the bait, so if you had a second bait, there's a good chance you get get a double-header. Main drawback would be you'd probably get some monumental tangles once the fish are in the boat or in the net.

Ive used it many times, however it was always a smaller fish that took the top bait. Larger fish have always been on the bottom. I have also had the same results for crappie.

Might be tough with 2 bass on there. Come up with nothing.

Interesting, one day it would be the shakey the next the DS. But it seemed it was not both.

I tried two hooks above a normal DS weight. It was a f'n mess, when I caught a fish. I'd suggest a Shakyhead on the bottom of a DS rig, which I have yet to do. I have used a 3/8 oz Finesse Jig on the bottom of a DS rig and caught a fish on the jig or the upper hook, but not two bass. I'd like to catch two at once, just to do it. Especially SM, of course, but my hope was that I'd learn just how high off the bottom the fish wanted the bait that day. Usually, my OFB does a better with a DS than I do, but sometimes I do better with a Shakyhead than he does with the DS.
Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.

I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.

We make a similar rig to jig for baitfish in saltwater. Heavy, weight at the bottom, something heavy enough 2-3 fish swimming couldn't lift up to not tangle things up, but we jig vertically and tip with dead shrimp... I only ever used a traditional drop shot to keep live bait off the bottom.

Been using these tied above a Shaky head or a jig and even a lead slab in deep water. Not unusual to get a double on the slab rig in the winter. Did about the same thing with whites and stripers as a kid. Uncle hand tied the top feather rigs.

I have but don’t anymore. Not related to the fishing aspect but that storing it in the rod locker is a mess and I can’t put a rod sleeve on it. Seems like 90% of the fish always hit the bottom hook anyway.
