    New H18/17

What kind of speeds can I expect out of these 2 boats. Am I wrong, or does these 2 boats seem to be underpowered by looking at the size and weights.

My last boat was the X 17 rated for 115, new boat is X 18 rated for 150 and both are almost identical in size to the H 17/18 which are both rated for a lower max HP than the X models. I have heard that the H 18 is a low 50's boat with 115 SHO which is what I got from my X 17 with a 115. My X 18 with F 150 is 58.5-59.5 mph with the Power tech prop that came on it and rides great. As to whither they are underpowered, to me, yes(why I ordered mine with a 150) but to others maybe not if speed is not important. Good price and nice layout on them for sure.

I had a 2018 H17 with a 90 h.p. Yamaha 4 stroke ( Max rated h.p. ) and it came with a 17 p Power Tech prop. It would run 42 mph at 6000 RPMs. Exchanged it for a 19 p Power Tech and it would run 42 at 5800 RPMs. Bought a 17 p Turbo and it would run 46 at 6000 RPMs plus hold better in turns and had a better holeshot.

I do not know what the hp rating for an H18 is but would not buy one if rated for less than 150 hp.

It's great the Yamaha and Xpress do this. Both performance tests from August 2020.

I was hoping to see results from a 150 on the H18 but did not know it was rated for 115 h.p. max.

Glad I went with the 150 on my X 18, almost 10 mph faster then the H 18 with 115. Although I mostly run it in the mid 40's it nice to open her up occasionally.
