    Used LVS12?

Does anyone have a used LVS12 transducer for sale they are not using?
I really want to try this with my LVS32 and see if the LVS12 can help eliminate the ghost tree dead zone problem that I'm having between 20 and 30 feet in forward view in about the same depth of water.
Really want to test this but not at the cost of a new $500 transducer.

    Has anyone ever tried this?
Would the LVS12 caused interference on the LVS32 if both were running?
Would love to try this with my 8612 unit. Even if I had to turn them off and on separately.
    Any thoughts?

I like the idea for your problem . The only down side may be interference and the size of the images on one unit but for that price I would try it to . Good luck .

I’m curious Mr Royt if you have tried downvu and rotating the transducer 45*?

I have not tried that but I tried down view and it has the ghost tree - dead areas on both sides of the image equal to the water depth. Haven't played with this view much.
I really think the lvs12 is going to help with my issue. I see no reason at all why it should have a ghost tree or dead area as long as I can aim that 30 degree beam in the area that has been giving me problems.
I'm anxious to get it and go give it a try!

You’re going to try this on the same graph, split screen, correct?

That's my hope. If I get interference between the 2 I'm hoping that I can just pause sonar on one and view the other.
I have a GPS 8612 non sonar unit. It shows it being a compatible device. I currently have the LVS32 hooked up via the black box to a network port like everyone else. The LVS 12 doesn't require a black box. Now I need to know does the LVS12 just connect to my 2nd network port and do I need any special connectors. Anyone tried this yet?

Got your PM. There is a yellow LVS12 port on back of unit that the ducer will connect direct to. I think the only thing to think about is the interference but sounds like you have a plan for that.

No yellow connector port on the back of my unit.
Looks like my test is a failure before I even get to try it. Bummer!

Eeks, well if you want to sell it, I’ll be a buyer! I had the chance to buy one for $250, but I just kept thinking about the “why it might not works” and I’d need an extension cable.

Yah sorry to say I was just researching this for you Mr Royt and I can find anything where the lvs12 can be used with a non xsv unit box or no box. Sorry .

Yeah I have a friend close by that has an Ultra 122 unit with the same issue I have. We are going to try it on his unit. I really think its going to help.
grout scout, thanks , I may get back to you but my friend actually got me thinking about trying this.
    It's got to help.
Come on Garmin, how about an actual fix for this issue!
Don't want to hear it's always been there, I know better.
    Thanks everyone!
