Scan over obvious structure places... Long tapered points, drops near channels, flats that have a good drop near them, creek drains on flats, etc.

In and around docks, those homeowners seem to always throw their Christmas trees there or limbs and stuff.
Side imaging with 455 not mega, and range out to like 120 each side, 5mph or so in areas that you would want to sink them. Drop way points on the si screen Then turn around and use livescope to pin point them, then use ipilotlink and "autopilot/N^" button to cast a line on the bird screen, zoom in to say 20' range, and measure back from livescope screen to the pile, then cursor over on the bird the exact same distance away to drop a revised way point.

Thanks guys. Just plain old helix 9 si at bow & 798 ci si at console.
That will work.
Lots of Idleing and looking. Alot of the best brushpiles I have found have been tucked back off the point where someone was trying to be a little sneaky.

Just look in the places you would put them if you were putting them out. Points. Right on the edge of drops. Etc

What about offshore stuff on highland lakes guys? Thanks
I have my GPS and either 2d or side scan on. Follow the topo lines of points and at full pool most of the brushpiles are 20' +/-. Look on the GPS map for humps and where flats steeply fall into deep water. Again brushpiles should be around 20' +/-. Usually find the shallow brushpiles sticking out of the water fishing the fall drawdown. These brushpiles are usually on a secondary point or spawning cove 10' or less.
Thanks.
