Looking for setup tips for my Ranger 491VS

I have recently purchased a '98 Ranger 491VS with a Johnson 225 Venom. The boat will run 60-62mph @WOT. This is a really heavy boat and I am not expecting to break 80 with it but would like to get a little better top end speed if possible. The boat currently has a 4 blade prop on it, I am not sure of the exact pitch blade. Looking for recommendations on prop (3 blade or 4 blade) and pitch.

I would go with a 25 tempest

Yeah,a tempest+ should run well,if you want to try a 4 blade,get a Renegade 25. If you don’t have a jack plate, a 6” plate will help. You need some leverage to get the bow up on that hull. Should get upper 60’s with the right set up. Those old Venoms are strong running engines when they were running,they were bad about blowing. In fact,warranting all the ones that blew was the first nail in the coffin for OMC, FICHTs finished them off.
