Same. I’ve got some 8ft rods over there.
And the V seems rather functional. It certainly hasn’t kept me from being able to do any maintenance in the bilge. And my wife has never mentioned it being in her way. Her only complaint on the back deck is where the mounting post for the seat sticks out a little too much...keeps her from laying out and working on her tan, or napping when the narcolepsy is kicking in

I hate literally everything about the live wells. That's the #1 reason I am shopping P2s right now.

I’m not a tournament fisherman. I’ve used the livewell a few times for bringing dinner home so for that use, they’ve been fine for me.

Is there a date yet on when this new boat will be announced?

Is this going to carry the width forward like my 90 Caracal did.

It’s a fundamental Margay style bow.

Maybe some Skeeter styled transom pods to support the weight of that new V12 600

Margay's pretty wide up front already.

went to basscat photos/specs and looks like it carries the width forward. now, if Basscat will let you choose consoles and get rid of the massive lid and the extension, yes, i know people are fishing 8' rods now. move the rodbox to port side, keep the length, move passenger seat back, put livewell between seats, bring ice chest to rod box with step. make two compartments out of center, like the Cougar. My ideas, just living the dream

I wish all models had the extension.

Opposing views above and that’s why we don’t make cookie cutters. Everyone has an opinion!

Patiently waiting for the new 17'7" boat.

It'll be a race to see which is ready first. My lake house or the "new" Margay. My house is a long ways off due to Covid delays of materials.

CoVid is impacting all of our production... houses, cars, boats, motors, electronic, trolling motors, just about you name it.

I would like to see a new glove box door, charging ports inside the day box, and a redesigned bow to accommodate 2 units.

How do the current bows not do this?

Because dual units are about two years old or less and we can’t afford to build new molds for every alteration. Also the dual BalZout mount addresses this we feel. After that it’s all personal preference. We still only do about 10% with dual front graphs.

I would like a sneak peek at this new 17’7” boat. It might be the only thing that prompts me to move out of my (early in the production run) Margay. I love it, but at nearly 10yrs old, maybe it’s time for a new Cat

I don't need two graphs on the bow or on the console. I had two on the bow and removed them when I went to 9" units.

Patiently waiting to see the cat and would love to be one of the first to own one for my retirement boat.

Yeah, I thought I was going to be do happy with dual bow units. I never turn my second one on. Going single on new boat with dual at console just so I can keep a Lowrance on board for mapping and waypoints.
