Center Step Console
I have ordered a center step console for my 2000 TR21, how long of screws can I use without hitting gas tank?
Thanks, Jeff

I had the fuel tank out on my 99 TR18 over the summer and I am pretty sure there was practically zero space between the top deck and the fuel tank and just a little bit on the front side, enough for seat bracket screws. I wish I could upload bigger pics here, I could show you a picture of the fuel tank installed.

I have a TR 20 and there isn’t much room under the seat platform. Here’s a pic of my tank. You can see it has a slight ridge in the center and the edges. Be careful because the seat platform gives a little also when you step on it.

Did your boat have a center jump seat in it? Was it fastened in with clips and short screws into the front of the bench area and none in the back.

I put a center step/seat in it. I attached it only at the front edge. I have about 3-4 inches of space in that area away from the gas tank. I didn’t put any screws towards the back. It holds just fine.

You can always velcro the back down but I wouldn't put any screws in there.

You need to remove the seats and base to expose the fuel tank. Then Thru-bolt the console.
IMO do it properly or don't do it at all
