Mine is mounted above the drain plug area, but its a 2-1 with a through hull for reading on plane.
I would look into getting a jack plate mount (provided this vessel has a jack plate). There are a number of manufacturers that build a jack plate mount to include russell marine and transducer shield and saver to name two off the top of my head.
You won't be able to get depth on pad, and this is where having a second shoot thru hull ducer comes in handy.
