    Tire scrubbing fender

Have any of you guys had the problem with the tire scrubbing the fiberglass fenders? My 2019 Z20 has upgraded black rims and what looks to Be lower profile tires. It scrubs on the boat driver side, front tire, when trailer is going up or down an incline. I can easily slide my hand on the passenger side tires but driver side I can only slide under rear tire. Maybe 1/4” clearance on the front. What do I need to do or look at? Thanks I’m advance.

My 2019 would rub the top of the fender.

I’m guessing it has improper leaf springs on driver side. Fender on both sides match placement on trailer but yet driver side fender is one inch closer to ground.

Is the spring on the equalizer in the right position? The spring shackle straps can get flipped over, putting one spring above the equalizer and one below it.

All the springs are the same too. I’m assuming they are a mono spring and it has HD8 stamped on one end of spring and 801 stamped on other end. I can find any info or what spring is rated for but it measures 1 3/4” wide and on load is roughly 27”long. I saw another spring from etrailer that is mono, 1 3/4 x 25(free standing)and is rated for 3000lbs. This make me assume that it has right springs in it. Thoughts anyone why my fender is almost 1” closer to ground on one side?

Any chance it’s been hit in a parking lot?

I’d level the trailer on a flat surface and start comparing everything from one side to the other. Something is loose, bent, broken or otherwise out of position.

possibly one side has settled a little more. can u tell a difference in the spring bend from one side to the other? I had my leaf springs replaced with beefier leaf springs on my 2019.

What springs did you go with Bryan? Do it your self or pay? Was it expensive? So for all the questions.

My dealer did it for me, not sure all I heard they were heavier duty springs. Leaf springs are fairly cheap though.

Had my mechanically inclined neighbor take a look. Right off the bat he pointed out at least two worn out bushings. Could a few worn out bushings make the trailer 1/2” lower on the side that’s worn? I’m ordering the dexter heavy duty suspension upgrade. Wish I had the 2” equalizer so I could get ez flex. I’m gonna leave my Equalizer and just replace everything else.

Bushings are not that thick. Actually pretty thin.

With the oversized rims / tires you may need to add some 1/4" wheel spacers to move the tire further out.

It’s fine on the passenger side. I’m hoping that a couple worn out bushings could make a 3/8-1/2” difference. I really can find anything else. Maybe I’ll see something when we replace all the bushings and shackles. This is a pic of one.

You will gain some height just not sure if it will be 1/2". 2021s they seemed to lower the wheel axle some to prevent this.

Brand new 2021 Z20 with the 18" wheels. Going to see if dealer will work something out on the cost of the spacers.
