    What could this be

Have the boat put away for the winter but stopped to get something and noticed a puddle of oil. It doesn't look like lower unit oil and from the back it looks like it is coming from the left side. I didn't take off the hood to cold but just wondering is there something under there that could have split. Thanks

That's a 2.5L, goes in the next forum down. I'll move the post for you.

If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info (serial number) when posting. Thanks!

Was the engine FOGGED? If so, if could be fogging oil and exhaust/carbon mixed (might look dark/dirty).

If unsure... see if you can put a piece of white paper under the engine to catch some of the liquid.

No problem- I've moved it for you.

You'll need to remove the cowling and do a visual inspection for oil leaks, especially around the Engine-mounted oil tank. There should be NO oil leaking in there.
