Lens Question
I'm looking at a Sigma 18-300 for my Canon T5i. Pros and cons? Thanks

For the Canon T5i, the Sigma 18-300MM (f/3.5-6.3) lens is a good quality everyday carry/travel lens option. Just keep the increased optical distortion effects in mind when utilizing a 16x zoom lens (18mm to 300mm) and you should enjoy some wonderful images. IMO, it is much better lens than the Canon 55-250mm (f/4-5.6).
I shoot the T6i for landscapes with either the Canon 10-22mm (f/3.5-4.5) or 17-55mm (f/2.8).
Just my 2 cents....Personally, I think the Canon 18-200mm (f/3.5-5.6) is a better lens (over the Sigma 18-300mm) just because of the Image Stabilization, 1/3 of a stop larger aperture at maximum magnification, and 11x zoom (as compared to the Sigma's 16x zoom).
Hope this helps.

Thanks Hog! I'm new at all of this. I have the Canon 55-250, just want a little more zoom. Do you have any recommendations on a 400 zoom lens? Thanks!!

Topwater 2,
That's a little challenging for your camera but should still work with no problems. The T5i has the APS-C sensor size (just like my T6i), without spending over $1000 on the lens, I'd look at the Sigma 100mm - 400mm (f/5-6.3) or the Tamron 100mm - 400mm (f/4.5-6.3) lenses. When you get into this focal range, most of the lenses are designed for Full Frame sensor size but will still work on an APS-C sensor body with the correct lens mount. In your case, the T5i is designed to utilize both the EF-s and EF lens (Ef-s = lens designed for crop sensor camera (APS-c) and EF for full frame camera). But if you want to spend a little more money, both Tamron and Sigma make a 150mm - 600mm zoom lenses. If you want to drop around $2600, Canon has the 100mm - 400MM (f/4.5-5.6).
Hope that heaps.
