Wondering opinions on whether most prefer the MLF style tournaments or Bassmaster style tournaments? I'm more inclined to seeing who can catch the 5 biggest fish per day but certainly understand that catching a lot of smaller fish that adds up shows an angler has "figured them out". Others?

From a TV viewing perspective, I prefer MLF. I like the format and I think the MLF Cups program on TV is better quality and better produced than the Bassmaster events. I will not watch the Bassmaster TV events.Originally Posted by BadgerRedd
The BPT streamed events are also well produced and good quality. I just do not like the BASS LIVE streamed events at all. Maybe the FS1 coverage will be better, but I saw somewhere BASS is still going to produce the coverage, so I suspect no better.
I don't like the MLF style, I guess I'm not a fan of the rules and penalties.

If you mean watching, biggest 5. If you mean, style we prefer to fish, I like biggest single bass wins.
I’ll bite. I like 5 biggest. I liked MLF when it was just a reality TV show.... now it’s just too confusing to me.... never can tell what/ when they’re fishing... is it live or from 6 months ago, cups, selects...

I live in Northern Illinois. I often think we don't get the same amount of Fishing programs tournaments that you guys get in the south. I say this because I will watch any tournament on TV so I have learned to love both formats. I will say I would love to fish a MLF style once to experience the rush of knowing where your competition is. I do think it would be greatly improved with just one change, 2 lb recordable fish.
Are you trolling or not know they did that for the BPT events this year?
I agree it did make things better.
Pure tournament experience I prefer 5 but that's likely because it is what I am used to and do. I enjoy both circuits and think they both have their +/-'s.
As far as format goes it doesn't really matter to me, but for TV coverage I prefer BASS over MLF

OP, we will cut you some slack since you just joined in October! To answer your question, I do like both but enjoy watching MLF more.
I much prefer the days of when all these guys fished the elites but also fished MLF cup events.
Not bashing mlf but it's not even close to me fishing or watching. Biggest five. Watching guys trying to catch as many as they can plain boring. Peaple say the have to figure out a secret lake I say yes in a small way, mostly they just hit a bank and fish especially when they start getting behind.
