I will not fish them because my buddy who I bought them for will not fish my go to lure, the Ned Rig. We have this silly thing that if you won’t fish my favorite lure, I won’t fish your either.
He makes fun of me and my spinning combo rigged with a Ned Rig, but I’ll make fun of him throwing that Midnight Creeper.......

interesting that some guys wrote using finesse stuff more in 2021. Get a old spinning rod, some 6# line, sinkers, jigheads, hooks and go do it.

Going to Florida this winter, and will probably punch mats. I'm going to give the Tokyo Rig a try.

In 2020 I finally gained confidence in traditional jigs and a drop shot. For 2021 I plan on putting a lot of time into learning a swim jig and it’s different applications. Also plan on incorporating spinnerbaits and a shaky head back into my arsenal much more than I have the past few years.

Definitely DON'T try skipping them around docks or low hanging branches to get confidence in them. They skip like absolute garbage, and if you do somehow manage to get the bait up under a dock, any fish that's there will turn up its nose....

For me, it's cranking grass. I catch fish on crankbaits at certain times and in certain conditions and I'd say at times I'm actually a little dangerous with a crank, but ripping them through grass is something I still struggle with. There are guys who have fishing them through grass mastered and I get my tail kicked when that bite is on. I've tried working on that more in the past but haven't committed enough. This year is the year!

I think I've only caught one fish on a dark sleeper while swimming it, every other fish has come when fishing it like a jig.

As for durability, it depends. I've lost a tail on a brand new bait from a short bite and I've had them last 18+ fish.

Blending in light 1/16-1/8 oz Maribou Jigs more often when the bite is subtle. Due to wrist surgeries, I can no longer use spinning gear which made some techniques difficult to do effectively. So I am going the BFS baitcasting route this year so I can spend more time getting better casting hair jigs. At times, those little buggers outperform everything else!

I'm doing a lot. I had a bunch of techniques I wanted to try last year that I didn't because I didn't hardly fish.
So this year, I'm looking at:
-Micro jigs (3/16oz jigs with TRD Crawz, TRD Bugz, etc.)
    -glide baits
    -huddlestons
    -squarebills and shallow cranks
    -deep cranks
    -Dark sleeper

I'm also going to go back to basics. I feel like I've been chasing patterns other people are successful on too much the last couple years of tournaments and I want to go back to fishing my strengths and simplify. Every tournament I plan to have tied on:
    1. Chatterbait
    2. Jig
    3. Drop shot
    4. Senko (either texas rigged with a light weight or weighted wacky rig)
    5. Spinnerbait
    6. Jerkbait
    New techniques I'll keep:
    7. Ned
    8. Small swimbait (keitech 3.3)
    2001 Champion 187 Yamaha 175
    12' Talons, Lithiums and Garmins
    All pulled by a Hemi

Moving to Middle Tennessee with the Family this spring...will be applying all combos/techs to new waters so the entirety will be a new learning experience. Really looking forward to honing my skills for wipers/stripers/trout/smallies/walleyes in the spillways, fishing/bigger bodies of water, lots of creeks, flatheads/blues, and a lot more opportunities for panfish/perch/crappie.

The thing about a spinnerbait is almost every bite is a good 'un. Love 'em.

finesse Carolina rig, I threw it last year in the fall with some success using a 3 or 4 inch fluke style bait, also deeper diving crankbaits

Ripping a Trap off the bottom..
not necessarily in grass just casting letting it sink and pop it up..
I dont think I have enough backbone in the rod for the hook set.. I am using a mh cranking rod.. I am pretty sure I should be letting it fall on slack line but it seems so counter intuitive.
definitely need to figure this out in 2021
