    Traditional muzzleloading

    Anyone got the bug?

I bought a muzzleloader around 15 years ago to hunt with. Savage inline smokeless powder muzzleloader. I recently purchased a Lyman Great Plains rifle and bought a TC renegade off of gunbroker that came with a Lyman peep sight installed. Both in 54. I cannot believe how much I am enjoying shooting these with patched round balls and goex. Sure they are a little messy but the cleanup is easy with the hooked breech and a bucket of soapy water.

Now I got the bug for some more authentic and traditional models. I have the fever for a large caliber rifle/musket reproduction, double barrel 20 gauge, and a nice semi custom small caliber flintlock.

I am really enjoying spending a few hours at the range shooting and making smoke without depleting my primer stash. I just bought enough caps and goex to keep me shooting for a while.
